The ferns below were from my pots. They were much smaller in size compared to the ones found in the wild (above).
The fern below was removed from the soil to view the root system.

The accepted botanical name indicated in the Plants of the World Online and World Flora Online websites was Thelypteris interrupta while Cyclosorus interruptus was designated as a synonym. However, in the iNaturalist website, the name was swapped from Thelypteris interrupta to Cyclosorus interruptus in December 2019 based on a publication from the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group (PPG) in 2016 [1].
After further digging, I believe I had found the reason for the inconsistency on the accepted name. There was another publication in 2018 [2] that consolidated the number of fern genera down to 212 which was well below the 319 fern genera proposed by the PPG publication in 2016. The accepted names were probably being changed between the 2 publications. Nevertheless, the supporters of the PPG classification was obviously not too please [3] with the authors of the latest publication [4].
In the iNaturalist website viewed on 9 June 2023, there were only 8 observations reported in Singapore though I suspect it should be a rather common fern here. It had shown up in my pot spontaneously years ago and since then, had kept showing up from time-to-time over the years.
